Be Optimistic and Joyful Salesians' : Young Priests Meet

Hyderabad, Aug. 25. The Young Priests of the Salesian Province of Hyderabad had two days seminar from  22-23 August 2011 at Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad. On 22nd, the Young Priests Meet commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Rev.Fr.Raminedi Balaraju, the Provincial, Rev.Fr.Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, the Vice-Provincial and the resource persons. In the inaugural address Fr.Provincial welcomed the young priests and exhorted them to be optimistic and joyful in all the events of our Salesian life (Art.17). Fr. Thathireddy Bhaskar introduced two days' programme to the participants.
On the first day, the first session was animated by Rev.Fr. James Cheruvathur, on the topic 'The Initial Proclamation of Jesus Christ'. He explained the topic by highlighting the important aspects of Mission Congress recently held in Kolkata. He put forward Mary as the model for evangelization ''Mary as the First Evangelized'' and First Evangelizer'' The Second and third sessions were animated by Rev.Fr. Donthireddy Raja Reddy, the Youth director of the province on the theme 'Emotional well-being' and Sexuality and Celibacy. The day was culminated with the Holy Eucharist celebrated by newly ordained priests Fr.Kalyan and Fr.Benny. The day was ended with the thought provoking good night talk by Fr.Provincial.

The second day began with the solemn Holy Eucharist celebration by Rev.Fr. Santiagu Thomas, the birthday baby of the day. The fourth and fifth session was animated by Rev.Fr. T.D.John. He put everyone in the perspective with brain storming session. He began with the topic 'What kind of change is needed in our society today?' He explained it with different sub topics: what is wrong with India? How domination is perpetrated? What could be some basic steps towards Democratic Changes? What could be some specific steps for Democratic change today? Call for leadership is the need of the hour. What kind leadership can we provide as Salesians? Gospel Leadership? What are the values we are socialized into? . In the afternoon Fr.Provincial meet all the young priests individually. The seminar ended with joyful notes.........
