Empowering Rural Youth @ Ponnur

Hyderabad, Aug. 1. Bosco Ashram Ponnur had organized a Career Guidance Programme on July 29, 2011 for the Pittalavaripalem Mandal Youth and surrounding areas.  The main highlights were- Awareness Programme on Job Market, Job Placement and Self-Employment.  85 youngsters benefited from this venture.
The Programme was inaugurated by Fr.P.Arul Das sdb, Administrator-Incharge of CBO project of Ponnur in the presence of the youth and staff of CBO. He introduced the Youth about DHISA, Don Bosco Centre for Career Guidance, Job Placement and Self-Employment and also the resources persons of the day Mr.Mohan and Mr.Cyril of DHISA office of Hyderabad.  The Programme started at 10:00 a.m.  The first session was centred on the theme: ''Awareness on Job Market'', in which Mr. Mohan give a clear picture of job market scenario and soft skills that are necessary for the youth to get good jobs.  The Second session was about the Interview techniques and Personality Development.  In the afternoon, we had mock interviews for all the participants. Resumes were collected from the youngsters in order to place them in appropriate jobs.

           The entire programme was meticulously planned and executed by the Pittalavaripalem Mandal CBO staff. we are greatful to Fr.Thomas Santiagu, the BSK director and Fr.Jose.Kollithanathu, the rector of DB-Ponnur for their guidance and help.  

This was a historic occasion at Pittalavaripalem Mandal to have first Career guidance programme to cater the needs of the youth.
