INH Province Level Don Bosco Alumni centenary celebrations began at DBHRDC, Gagillapuram, Hyderabad.

Hyderabad, Feb. 4. Fr Raminedi Bala Raju SDB, Provincial had inaugurated the Alumni Centenary Celebrations at Don Bosco Human Resource Development Center (DBHRDC), Gagillapuram in the midst of 125 past pupils of various Don Bosco' institutions in the province.  Mr Jochim Lourduswamy, Country Manager at DMOS COMIDE, Belgium is the special guest of the event, few Salesian priests, local sister congregations, parish priest, church elders and village committee members of Gagillapuram were other prominent guests attended to add more beauty and grace to this function.
After the registration of the past pupils at 11.15 am, Fr Raminedi Bala Raju, Provincial has presided over the Holy Mass. During his homily, Fr Provincial had highlighted the significance of past pupils since Don Bosco's time to till now. He said, at it its very inception, the Salesian congregation was started with 17 past pupils. When Don Bosco was severely sick on death bed, he was healed through fervent prayers and fasting of the past pupils. Fr Provincial's thought provoking and inspiring message drew the attention past pupils to carry forward the mission of Don Bosco.

After the mass, Fr Sudhakar felicitated Fr Provincial and Mr Jochim Lourduswamy in a special way and expressed his gratitude to the guests for having come to the celebration from distant parts of Hyderabad and sparing some time out of their busy schedule. Fr. Provincial has presented to the past pupils the table calendar prepared for this occasion and a booklet, containing the rules and regulations of past pupils association. He also distributed Identity Cards to the past pupils batch of 2009-10. Mr. Jochim in his short message acknowledged that he himself was a past pupil and received education from Salesians for about 8 years. While encouraging them he said that past pupils are the 'Power' to the salesian congregation and we collaborate with salesians to spread the mission and values of Don Bosco in our respective places where we work.

Post lunch programme commenced at 02.45pm with energetic party songs and active party games. Fr Sudhakar led the entire post lunch programme with the timely help and intervention of pastpuils.

Fr Sudhakar put forward few important future events of the year and sougt the advice and suggestions of past pupils for the same:
1.Future plans for the centenary year celebrations of Past Pupils Association in India
2.Don Bosco Casket (Visiting our province in September 7-22, 2011)

In response, past pupils proposed to contribute Rs.10/-per month for past pupils fund and area wise representatives been selected to gather the contributions. How to utilize the money and what to be done during the Don Bosco visit in province is unanimously decided to discuss in the next meeting scheduled to be held on 1at May, 2011. After the meeting Don Bosco movie was screened for few minutes which was very recently dubbed into telugu by our province communication department.

The past pupils congratulated and expressed their strong feeling of gratitude to Fr Sudhakar for his interest, hard work and patience in taking up this mega event. Fr Suadhakar congratulated core team convener Mr Bala Swamy Reddy and members Mr Ramesh Kumar Bojja, Mr Dastagiri, Mr. Nagaraju and Mr. Sudheer for their commitment and sacrifice for making this programme a reality. Finally boys played square ball for some time in recollecting of their student period. Whole day's celebration went on jubilantly looking forward for the next meeting.
