New Don Bosco Boy's Hostel Inaugurated at Amguri

Guwahati, Aug. 17. Shri Kampa Borgoyary, Deputy Chief of Bodoland Territorial Area District (BTAD) on August 17, 2016 inaugurated the newly constructed Don Bosco Boy's Hostel at Amguri, Kokrajhar District of Assam in the presence of Father VM Thomas, Provincial and Fr. Johnson Parackal, Executive Director of Don Bosco Institute, Guwahati.
The Deputy Chief congratulated the Don Bosco Society for the initiative taken to give good opportunity to the poor youth of BTAD area. ''I am glad that the Don Bosco School at Amguri is catering to the poorest section of BTAD and I congratulate Fr. VM Thomas, Provincial and Don Bosco Institute, Kharghuli for the bold and noblest initiatives,'' he said. He encouraged those present to send the children to the school as the school cater to students of all faith. He added, that education is the need of the hour and encouraged everyone to study well to become better human person.

Congratulating Don Bosco Institute at setting up the boy's hostel Father VM Thomas Provincial reminded the first instance when the thought came up to start a school at Amguri to cater to the poor students of the areas and particularly those affected by the communal violence of 1995 - 96. He expressed satisfaction at the way the school has grown and now able to provide hostel facilities to the students who attend school from far away villages. Later Fr VM Thomas blessed the newly inaugurated hostel building.
Father Johnson Parackal, Executive Director of DBI extended warm welcome to the dignitaries and those attending the inaugural and the blessing of the new hostel.
