Guwahati, Jun. 17. Agartala, June 17: The pilgrim relic of Don Bosco, the friend of youth bid farewell to Tripura in a fitting way by visiting the Auxilium School and convent, Nandannagar.Early in the morning, the boarding children together with the sisters gathered together to welcome Don Bosco into their house and after 10 minutes bid farewell to the sacred relic.
Auxilium Girls Secondary School, Nandannagar is the only school meant for girls in the whole city of Agartala. The institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (F.M.A.) known as Salesian Sisters was born in 1872 in the Church and for the Church, through a gift of the Holy Spirit and direct intervention of Mary. St.John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello animated by the charity of Christ the Good Shepherd and the maternal solicitude of Mary gave witness to the Love that encounters christ in the young especially the poorest.
They share with love, dedication and creativity in the mission God had confided to the institute and one finds them active in different types of schools and parishes, oratory and youth centres, different programmes and works to improve the condition and position of women, various works of social upliftment, dispensaries, orphanages, hostels.
The province of Shillong was canonically erected in 1953. It expanded all the way to Tripura and today Auxilium Nandannagar is a proceeding High school, which has been blessed by the awesome presence of Don Bosco.
