Salesian Family Congress to be held at Don Bosco Liluah, kolkata By C.M. PaulGuwahati, Sep. 13. The South Asia Salesian Family is organizing a 3-day Congress in Kolkata to conclude the Bicentenary of Don Bosco's birth. The Theme is ''One Family One Mission'' of Don Bosco. The Salesian Family Congress will be held at Don Bosco School, Liluah from the 26th-28th September, 2015. One Thousand and Eight Hundred delegates from all across the South Asian region have registered for this event.
Rector Major, Fr. Angel Fernandez Artime is visiting India for the first time after he has been appointed as the Rector Major. Fr. Ivo Coelho, the General Councillor for Formation, Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga, The Regional Councillor of South Asia, Fr. Guisseppe Casti, the World Delegate for Cooperators, Fr. Horacio Lopez, the Secretary of the Rector Major, and all the Provincials of South Asia will be attending the Salesian Family Congress in India.
The Grand Finale of the Bicentenary Celebration will be held in Netaji Indoor Stadium on 28 September at 5.00 pm.
The venue of the grand finale of Don Bosco Bicentenary celebrations Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium is an indoor sports arena, in Kolkata, with a capacity to seat 12,000+ people. This indoor stadium is located just beside the historic cricket stadium Eden Gardens.
Incidentally, Mother Teresa's funeral rites were held at the same stadium on 13th September 1997.
Besides messages from civil and religious dignitaries, young people from various Salesian family groups will present a cultural extravaganza, and a Musical Tribute by alumni singers - Mr. Sandeep and Sanjeev Vyas.
Delegates from 11 Salesian Family Groups In South Asia will participate at this Congress.
