Vocation Camps in the Province of Guwahati - 2010-2011

Guwahati, Jan. 19. Vocation Camps in Guwahati Province were conducted in the different regions. Many young people came to live and experience the Salesian way of living. They came to know the lifestyle and charism of the Salesians.
These camps were organized at 5 centers of the province. The first ones were organized at at Seling Parish by Fr. P.A. James, Bro. Robert Lalfakzuala and brothers for the Mizoram region from 13 - 18 December, 2010. 20 boys were there for this camp. For the Khasi Pnar regions the camp was organized at Savio Juniorate from 13th to 20th December, 2010. 116 boys attended the camp and it was animated by Fr. Paul O. Lyngkot, Fr. Melitus Shylla and 5 brothers. For the Assam Region camp was organized at Barpeta Road from 16 -19 December 2010. Fr. Nicodim Aind and the brothers were the animators. There were 75 boys. Then it was at Sojong Parish held for the region of Karbi Anglong Fr. Teron Joseph and the brothers organized from 5th to 8th January, 2011. 5 boys attended the camp. The last camp was held for the Garo region at Boys'Home Tura from 4th - 10th January, 2011. Fr. Januarius Sangma and Fr. Bartholomeo Marak and the brothers were the animators. 40 boys were there for this camp. All together 256 boys who came to listen to God's call in the Salesian way of life.

The vocation camps held at various centres gave to the young an opportunity to know, love and a strong zeal to work for the church in Don Bosco's way. We all pray for these boys to accept, live and be happy in their vocation wherever they are. The Vocation Commission of the province explicitly extended it's gratitude to all the Rectors, Parish Priests and other confreres who were instrumental in organizing and guiding our youth at various places.
