Dimapur, Jan. 1. Looking back to year 2010 with moistening eye and looking forward to year 2011 with bright ray of unleashing possibilities, the participants of 11th National Boscoree, took out one of the most colourful and message filled Peace Rally through the byways and lanes of Dimapur beckoning everyone to peace and harmony. The Boscoreeans from more than 75 schools with 2500 participants dressed in their traditional attire, from east and west and south and north of India, with placards of peace, beating traditional drums and singing their melodies rallied for a treasure ''PEACE'' which everyone wishes and cherishes. The rally was a sight to be marvelled at and a memory to be savoured each moment. The Peace Rally escorted by Dimapur Police, marched through the town of Dimapur, the commercial hub of Nagland, bringing home the message that peace is what we need in the 365 days ahead.  
The Rally was preceded by a photo exhibition by Ms Thechano Kithan, an imminent poet, artist, photo-Journalist, and author of ''Whispering Rocks''. Ms Thechano speaking at the opening of the exhibition said, ''she is a woman with a simple dream, who savours the colours of the way-side; the life lived on with smiles, so simple and pure, full of warmth and genuineness''. She wished the Boscoreeans to spread peace through their creative talents. Dr. Stephen Kamson, the Provincial Secretary of Federation of Don Bosco Alumni, Dimapur Province, appreciating the work of Ms Thechano said, that as responsible citizens everyone ought to contribute his or her share towards building a peaceful society.

Dr. James Poonthuruthil SDB, Director Don Bosco Society, Dimapur, while appreciating the welfare activities run by Don Bosco alumni, Dimapur unit, said, photos speak more than words. A picture is worth a thousand words, he further noted.  ''Our society needs peace, and today's young people can be the agents of peace by exploring their talents'' he added. Fr. Maria Charles, South Asian Delegate for DBYA, while cutting the ribbon said, North East is a beautiful home; make this home a peaceful home.''

Other dignitaries present were Dominic Sequiera SDB, representing Youth Pastoral Department, Rome, Nestor Guria SDB, Vice Provincial Dimapur, Jose Palely SDB, Economer Dimapur Province and P.X Francis SDB, the Boscoree Chief. The participants of Boscoree had the opportunity to appreciate the marvels of life through art and photos. A caption contest was also organised and cash awards were given.  

A point to be noted that Don Bosco Alumni, Dimapur unit headed by Dr. Stephen Kamson in collaboration with Lions Club of Dimapur have been running a free medical camp at the Boscoree for five days. Above 70 cases of medical treatment has been administered to the participants of Boscoree.

Pioneering, adventure activities and Quiz competition on Don Bosco and Lord Baden Powell, two important personalities who worked particularly for the education and well being of young people were other important events. The showcasing of the rich cultural heritage of India through the cultural dance competitions and the theme presentations culminated the day.
