11th Provincial Chapter begins in Dimapur Salesian Province

Dimapur, Apr. 16. The 11th Provincial Chapter of the Salesian Province of Dimapur was inaugurated on 16th April 2013 at 9 am at Salesian Provincial House, Dimapur. The dignitaries present were Most Rev. Menamparampil Thomas SDB, Archbishop Emeritus of Guwahati, Most Rev. Joseph Aind SDB, Bishop of Dibrugarh, Sr. Elizabeth George, FMA Provincial Guwahati, Sr. Ursula Indwar, MSMHC Provincial, Tinsukia, Sr. Sharlene Pulikal, SMI Provincial, Guwahati, Mr. Francis Solo, President, Don Bosco Alumni, Dimapur, Ms. Kaisa Kaikho, Provincial Coordinator (former), Salesian Cooperators.
Bp. Joseph Aind presided over the morning Eucharistic celebration. He reminded the chapter members that the theme of the chapter is most relevant and it is time that all took it seriously to work to be Mystics, Prophets and Servants in our mission.

Archbishop Thomas gave the keynote address at the inaugural function. He reminded the Chapter members that they need to move from the mysticism of abstraction to the mysticism of insertion. This Mysticism must be one of commitment and deriving energy for intense work. Other dignitaries gave  short message and wished all the members success for the Chapter!

The moderator, Fr. Chittilappilly Varghese introduced the theme of the chapter. There are 70 participants in all for the 11th Provincial chapter including the observers.

After the singling of the Veni Creator and the lighting of the lamp the 11th Porovincial Chapter was declared open. The singing by the Salesian College brothers added solemnity to the inaugural function.
