Dimapur Don Bosco Alumni Annual Gathering By Fr. Tarcisius ToppoDimapur, Dec. 3. The Don Bosco Alumni Dimapur Provincial Federation, held its third Annual Day on December 03, 2011 at Don Bosco Provincial House, Dimapur, in the presence of Noel Maddhichetty, National Delegate of Don Bosco Alumni, Shri. Rajiv Tikmani, National President of Don Bosco Alumni and Shri, Rajesh Gupta, World Confederal Member and former President of DB Alumni India.
Shri. Francis P. Solo, President Don Bosco Alumni, Dimapur Province, in his inaugural speech, welcome the members particularly the special invitees. The special invitees were also felicitated by the members of the DB Alumni Dimapur.
Congratulating 42 members, for the initiatives taken both at the local and national levels, Shri, Rajiv Tikmani, in his speech said that he looked forward to greater growth in leadership in DB Alumni. He termed the installation and unveiling of the Don Bosco' statue in the heart of Dimapur town was certainly a historic event. Mr. Rajesh Gupta, spoke of the growth of the Dimapur Alumni from 2007. However he pointed out that commitment is the one factor of the leaders. He said that only a leader who allows himself to be loved is a great leader.
Fr. Noel, the National Delegate of Don Bosco Alumni, in his exhortation, appreciated the DB Alumni of the Province for having achieved such a feat of installing the statue of Don Bosco in the heart of Dimapur. He termed the event as unique and historic. He however, reminded the members of the aims of the Alumni as pointed out by Fr. Pascual Chavez, Rector Major: to stand for life, freedom and truth. To be and to do this effectively, he further reminded that one should be competent, socially responsible and morally well balanced.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Fr. C. M. Jose, Provincial Delegate, Dimapur Province. The meet ended with the election of the new office bearers for the Don Bosco Alumni Dimapur Provincial Federation.
