Dimapur, Oct. 9. The annual meeting of the Rectors and Leaders of communities culminated in the celebration of the Provincial Community day on October 07, 2011 at Don Bosco Provincial House, Dimapur. The Provincial and his Council, Rectors and Leaders of communities, brothers from Salesian college and other confreres from in around Dimapur were present for the celebration. It is important to note that three former provincials were also present viz., Fr. Mathew Pulingathil, pioneer provincial, Fr. Varghese Palathingal and Fr. M.P. Thomas.

In his introduction, Fr. James Poonthuruthil, Provincial, acknowledged the hand of God, of the council members, of Rectors and leaders of communities and all the conferees in the growth, development and the well running of the province. He appreciated the pioneers for laying a good foundation and pointed out that we all stand tall on their shoulders. Province and the confreres are far from being perfect he pointed and cautioned that being over pessimistic is unhealthy. There are also enough and more talents in the province.

Commenting on the liturgy of the day - the feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, Fr. C.T. Varghese, in his homily, said that it is proper that we celebrate the Eucharist as a family, because the Holy Eucharist and Rosary are the two pillars of all religious commitments. Commitment, he further pointed out, entails, Acceptance, Appreciation, Discipline and Dedication.

The Eucharist was followed by a short family gathering where prepared as well as spontaneous items were performed from the senior most confreres to the youngest. A family meal culminated the celebration of unity.
