Dimapur, May. 29. In the third leg of its visit to Guwhati Province, Don Bosco's relic came to Tezpur cathedral, the only cathedral dedicated to St. John Bosco, in the North East. On its arrival, on 27 May, morning, it was solemnly welcomed by a crowd of traditional dancers and around eight thousand people.
After the brief placement ceremony, the Holy Mass followed. Fr. K.V. Sebastian, Administrator of the diocese of Tezpur, presided over the Eucharist. The homily was preached by Fr. Philip Barjo, former Provincial of the Salesian Province of Guwhati. He explained the purpose and motive of the pilgrimage of the relic. He emphasized the fact that though Don Bosco was advised by his spiritual director not to go to the missions but to send missionaries, this time he himself is visiting to see 130 countries evangelised by his followers.

From 9 am to 6 pm, about twelve thousand people visited the cathedral and paid homage to Don Bosco. On its way to St. Joseph's Convent of the Salesians Sisters, the relic had brief haults at the Provincialate of the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians, Tezpur Province, and Don Bosco School, Parua - Tezpur. It arrived at St. Joseph's Convent at 8 pm and was received enthusiastically by four thousand and five hundred people with songs, dances, and slogans. It was taken back to the cathedral on 28 May, morning, for the Eucharistic celebration at 6.15 am.
