DBC Maram Welcomes Don Bosco

Dimapur, May. 3. Don Bosco College-Maram, the only college managed by the Salesians in Manipur,   solemnly welcomed the father and friend of youth, Don Bosco. Students dressed up as Don Bosco, Salesians and members of the Salesian family,waited at Lairouching, about 5 kms from the college campus, to acompany the relic in a solemn procession, with slogans and songs.
Another thousand and more students waited at Kabinam village about a mile away from the college. They students led the pilgrimage in procession with flags, all dressed up in their traditional costumes. It was truly a mesmerizing moment with the youth managing the show. The public too joined in the welcome ceremony. The relic was then taken to the place prepared for prayer and vigil at the college campus.

Earlier the relic en route Don Bosco College, Maram, made brief halts at Puni Pfosemai, Pangomoul, and Senapati, the district headquarters. At Puni Pfosemai, the children of De Paul School along with the villagers numbering around 500 paid tribute to the father and friend of the young. At Pangmoul near Motbung, the Kuki tribals paid tribute. At Senapati, the St. John Bosco Parish, along with the church leaders and Don Bosco Alumni welcomed Don Bosco at the indoor stadium. Over 5000 people gathered to pay homage and offer prayers to the saint of the young. The choir and the church leaders along with the Don Bosco animation team provided spiritual animation to the community present.
