Dimapur, Feb. 7. DBCMaram,4 Feb 201 ( www.dbcmaram.org ): Don Bosco College, Maram celebrated the Feast of St. John Bosco on 4 Feb, 2011. Hon'ble MLA Shri K.Raina of Tadubi Constituency was the Chief Guest and Rev. Fr.Joseph Pampackal SDB, the Former Provincial Economer of the Province of Dimapur was the Guest of Honour.
The auspicious day was unveiled with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided over by Rev. Fr. Joseph Pampackal SDB and con-celebrated by six other priests of the College and the Salesian Parish. Present were also the religious sisters and representatives of Maram area.

The festal progamme compeered by Nirmal and Chung Dangmei BA 3 took off with a chorus entitled, 'Don Bosco lead the way' by Class 12 Arts. This was followed by the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Representatives of the Management, Alumni, Staff and students. Warm welcome note was delivered by Rev. Fr. P.O Sebastian SDB, Rector which was followed by choreography with a lively tune, 'My Redeemer Lives', by class 12 Commerce. It was followed by musical number by the Peace Messengers invoking God's grace with the song, 'Let the rain of Your presence fall on me'.

''It all began at the age of two.....'' At the age of nine little Johny Bosco got the Divine call for his loving mission for youngsters - The festal address was read by Samuel Baite BA 3.

'MY MISSION IS INCOMPLETE WITHOUT YOU', St. John Bosco appearing to a young notorious  boy, Tom in a dream teaching him Reason, Religion and Loving Kindness, Evangelization, Good Christian and Honest Citizen- qualities on which his mission is based. This was presented through a beautiful heart -touching skit by the Degree 3rd Years, depicting Don Bosco's vibrant work among the youth of the present world through the instrumentality of his followers.

The family of Don Bosco College, Maram was helped to walk the memory lane by  Fr. Benny James SDB, the Principal of Don Bosco College, Maram. He lucidly pictured decades of history of Salesian presence in Maram dating back to 1956. This walk of the memory lane was followed by Jorka Jatka, a dance by degree 2nd Years.

Rev. Fr. Joseph Pampackal SDB, the guest of Honour in his speech said, ''Maram is a great Miracle of God''. To lead a Holy life is an easy endeavour following Don Bosco's Philosophy which is illustrated by the Mathematical formula, ''A+B - C = Holy Life'' (A = cheerfulness, B = be good, and C = evil). He encouraged the students to cross further milestones and achieve greater things in life. This was followed by Hip Hop Masala by Bruno and Co, a mixture of movements and rhythm .The 6 idiots of the College charmed the audience with their beautiful number called, 'Wake up and Give me some sunshine, give me some rain'.

Hon'ble MLA, the chief Guest, in his inspiring speech highlighted the hazardous venture undertaken by the pioneers of the College. He was one with Late Rev.Fr.N.V Jose SDB, when the memorandum was written to the Government of Manuipur to establish the present College, the site of this prestigious college, the most important place in Manipur was once a hunting ground for him. Generously he assured us that some amount of money would be given for a gymnasium in the college.

There was a mosaic show of magic and talents led by Ringphami Hungyo BA 3. Unbelievable Magic Show, breathe taking karate, fantastic skills with ball by twins, monkey on fire enchanted the audience. This was followed by Saints at a glance- St.John Bosco and Dominic Savio leading the others.

Words of gratitude proposed by Sr. Rose Mary Kazhiia FMA, thanking everyone enriched the programme. She gifted everyone with- 'You made a difference'. The programme came to a close with Tableau by Class XI - a presentation of various characters, fields, profession, vocation associated with Don Bosco on the stage, with the College Anthem going up in unison, which was followed by lunch and snack for every one present for the occasion.
