Chennai, Nov. 9. The relic of Don Bosco was received at Madhampattu village and brought in procession to Don Bosco High School campus, Gedilam, on 8th November at 4.00pm.  The Salesians, students, beneficiaries of the mission and people from the neighbouring villages thronged to welcome the ''Father and Teacher of Youth'' with eagerness and enthusiasm.
As the crowd moved into the campus, the casket was placed before the public for prayer and veneration.  After the reception of the casket, Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Fr. Philomin Das, the VG of the archdiocese of Pondy-Cuddalore, with the Salesians and other priests from the neighbouring parishes concelebrating. After the final blessing, the faithful came around the casket to pay their homage and pray for their own special intentions.  As the people were moving out of the campus, the relic was shifted to Maranodai at 9.45pm for the night vigil.

The people of Maranodai waited with joy and welcomed the relic to their parish around 10.00 p.m.  After a warm reception, the parishioners gathered around the relic  for prayer and night vigil. People visited the casket throughout the night to pay their homage and to receive the blessings of St. John Bosco.  The night vigil concluded with a Holy Eucharist at 5.00 a.m. on 9th November.  As the Salesians and parishioners bid farewell, the relic casket moved out towards DBRITE, Cuddalore, at 6.15 a.m.
