Jubilee of Salesian Confreres held in Shillong

Shillong, Aug. 23. The confreres of Shillong Province gathered at the Altar of Lord to celebrate the Jubilee of fifteen of its Salesian Confreres at Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong on 22nd of August 2019  
The Jubilee Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Father P V Joseph sdb. The glorious event was marked with the presence number of priests, Religious, Collaborators, well-wishers and esteemed parents. The evening was set to gratefully thank the Lord for the sixty, fifty and twenty five years of Blessings and Graces.

'Jubilee is always a celebration. A celebration because it marks a milestone in life of each Jubilarian. Though the individuals have traveled the same road yet they have different memories to share. Some celebrated 60 years of Religious Profession, Some 50 years of Ordination and 50 years of Religious profession, 25 years of Priestly ordination and 25 years of religious profession,' said Father P V in his introductory speech.

Father Denis Lalfela, preached the homily in which he thanked the jubilarians for being child-like in their missionary works basing his reflection on the Gospel of the day.

The cultural programme was held to mark the occasion. FatherFather Edmund Gomes, the Rector of Don Bosco Technical School; the Provincial thanked and felicitated the jubilarians with his address and garlanded them with a shawl. The evening was added with beautiful and mesmerizing items performed on the stage by the students from various formation houses in the province. The festive celebration ended with a vote of thanks from Father Jose Kallanickal sdb.
