Shillong, Mar. 5. Salesian family members met together at 5:30 pm at the Don Bosco Technical School Shillong around the relic of Don Bosco their father and founder for a solemn Eucharistic celebration.
The relic of Don Bosco arrived in the city on the 26th February last and it was kept for public veneration at the Don Bosco Technical School. Various groups and individuals paid their homage and prayed through the intercession of this lover of the young through out the week. It may be mention here that this relic has performed various miracles including the miraculous healing of Larisa Khongsit from Sohra in 2011, will depart tomorrow the 6th of March to the Don Bosco Shrine Cherrapunji at 6:00am and it will be placed there permanently.

The auspicious encounter with Don Bosco in the form of the celebration of the Holy Eucharist was presided by Father Olphindro Paul Lyngkot sdb, the vice provincial of the St. John Paul II province concelebrated by salesian many priests from the city. While speaking on behalf of Don Bosco who was there through his relics, the Vice Provincial said that Don Bosco invites us to preserve our call for fidelity to our vocation. Vocation although lies in our weak and fragile earthen vessels those who embraced it should be convinced of it like Don Bosco. He also stated that the Salesian family needs to be like Don Bosco through faithfully following the spirit of our various Salesian family constitutions. Finally the Vice Provincial exhorted all present to recall the passion of the ''Damihi Animas'' - responding to the cries of the young with their apostolic zeal. Thus allowing oneself be inspired by Jesus Christ, by Mother Mary and by Don Bosco in their work for the salvation of souls.
