Don Bosco School, Silchar Mourns

Shillong, Dec. 19. Don Bosco School, Silchar organized a silent peace rally on 17 December, to show solidarity and sympathy to the parents of Army Public School, Peshawar, Pakistan who lost their school going innocent children on 16 December due to the cold blooded massacre carried out by terrorists.
The management, staff and students of Don Bosco School, Silchar marched in a silent protest from Circuit House Road, Silchar with banners and placards to condemn the inhuman & barbaric attack on innocent school children in Peshawar.

During the rally, a delegate of students led by Fr. Nelson Joseph, the Principal, Bro. Reggie, the manager and teachers met Sri Gokul Mohan Hazarika, the Deputy Commissioner and conveyed their condolences. During his speech, the Deputy Commissioner exhorted the participants of the rally to walk the path of non-violence.

The Civil Administration, namely, Sri Gokul Mohan Hazarika, ACS, the Deputy Commissioner, Sri. Diganta Borah, IAS, the Superintendent of Police, Cachar District, Silchar made the necessary security arrangements for the public demonstration of solidarity and mourning.

In a message, Fr. Nelson, the Principal said that a School is ''a temple of learning, but has turned out to be a massacre hall. Our hearts are broken by this act of terror and brutality inflicted upon the innocent school children and the people. We the Bosconians share their pain and offer our deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.''
