Shillong, Sep. 11. The Practical Trainees of Silchar province say sharing of experience and mutual support is a great vocation saving factor.  The young salesians were evaluating the two-day meeting of the brothers in Practical Training, Silchar Province, held at Provincial House Mathias Institute, Shillong, 5-6 Sept 2014.
The annual meet, organized this time by Fr. Paul Olphindro, the Vice provincial, focused on the need of the young Practical Trainee to reflect and share their experiences and garner support and strength from fellow trainees to further enhance the quality of their service and commitment.

Encouraged by the warm and fraternal atmosphere of the meeting, the eight trainees, consisting of seven clerics and one brother, shared in depth their personal experiences of engaging actively in the Salesian mission for the first time - its consolations and challenges, problems and possibilities.

The meeting, a 'welcome respite' from their usually hectic schedules, was interspersed with a variety of interesting and inspiring elements - viewing of Fr. Michael Makri's video overview of Silchar province, spiritual recollection led by Fr. Alex Kattakayam, Lectio Divina, and a special input session on 'understanding and dealing with Teenagers' by Fr. Olphindro.

Later, the young Salesians joined the CYL unit of Mawlai Parish for the Holy Eucharist. The parish unit was celebrating the Golden Jubilee of its establishment.

The Annual Meet, a much-deserved breather for the young Salesians, concluded with an outing to Mawshbuit.
