Shillong, Sep. 4. Don Bosco School Agartala commenced Free Coaching for Students attending Vernacular schools on 1st Sept 2014. The new activity, launched as yet another Bicentenary initiative will ensure that the imposing portals of Don Bosco School Agartala would remain open to students hailing from economically weak backgrounds. Over 150 Class X students from Bengali medium schools attended the first day of class, scheduled from 4.30 PM to 7 PM, Monday to Friday.
A brainchild of Fr. Benny Mushahary sdb, the Principal, the Evening School has been initiated with the collaboration of the Past Pupils of Don Bosco, Agartala region. The new venture is an 'opportunity for the Past Pupils to be meaningfully involved in a noble and society-serving cause and thus to enhance their credentials as Past Pupils of Don Bosco', says Fr. Mushahary.

Classes are held in three subjects - English, Mathematics and Science, for students studying in Class I to Class X.

A simple ceremony, held in the amphitheatre of the school, at around 4.30 PM signaled the launch of the novel venture. The students were then briefed about the rules and regulations of the evening coaching school. Mr. Joseph Hrangkhawl and Mr. Tarun Debbarma, Past-pupil Engineers from the locality also addressed the students and explained to them the purpose of the evening coaching classes.
