3 KM long walk to Celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday at Pynthor

Shillong, May. 8. The Parishioners of Sts. Peter and Paul's Parish, Pynthorumkhrah, Shillong, undertook a 3 km pilgrimage from Mawpdang to Ummir as part of their celebrations of the Feast of Divine Mercy on Sunday, 27th April 2014.

The pilgrimage which began at 10 a.m.from Mawpdang reached Ummir, the village where a newly constructed chapel of Divine Mercy is located. En route the pilgrims crossed 'Jordan', a river nicknamed so by the parishioners of Pynthorumkhrah. Different groups took part in leading the prayers and adoration before the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
Ms. A.M. Wahlang, a teacher, said it was 'nice experience to join the Universal Church in celebrating Divine Mercy Feast and to pray continuously from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m.' Everyone shared his sentiments and called the events of the day 'a wonderful experience'.
