Provincial House of Salesian Silchar Province Transferred to Shillong

Shillong, Aug. 31. In response to the request made by the Provincial and the Council, the Rector Major of the Salesians has authorized the transfer of the Provincial House of the Salesian Province of Silchar from Silchar to Shillong.

The new Provincial House will be at Mathias Institute, Mawlai. The Provincial team will move to Mathias Institute on 2nd September 2013.

Fr. James Poonthuruthil (IND) has been appointed In-Charge of the Community of Mathias Institute; Fr. Baxla Zepherynus will be the Vice Rector and Bro. Vazhamplackal Mathew (VS), the Administrator. The House will continue to serve as the residential facility for M.Th. and Doctorate students.
