Shillong, Aug. 3. Siloam - A Refreshing Retreat Experience

''It was a healing, refreshing and re-enthusing spiritual luxury'' - 20 participants of the Spiritual Retreat at Siloam 25-31 July 2012 expressed in unison.
The group consisted of the young, the middle aged and the elderly confreres of Silchar Province. Though Fr. Roy Anthony was listed to animate the retreat, he was not able to due to the demise of his mother. Fr. George Maliekal, Provincial got into the shoes of the preacher at short notice and he animated the group on the theme of GC 27 ''Witnesses to the radical approach of the Gospel''. Each morning began with one hour spent in the presence of the Eucharistic Lord with lauds and meditation on the Seven Letters from the Book of Revelation. The presentation of the GC 27 theme with reflections drawn from the reality of the Province and the use of AV means kept the participants ever absorbed and reflective. Fr. PA James of Seling did the animating role of the rector of the retreat and he did it with 'right earnestness' which helped to maintain the spiritual decorum of the retreat in all aspects. Of course the scenic setting and homely hospitality of Siloam is proverbial for such an experience. Thanks to Fr. George Palamattam and Fr. Michael Makri.
