Official Website of Panjim Salesian Province launched

Panjim, Jan. 18. The Provincial of Panjim Salesian Province, Fr Ian Figueiredo, launched the Province website, www.donboscopanjim.com, on 17 January 2014, on the occassion of the provincial community day at the Provincial House, Odxel.

As is customary, the Provincial Day celebrations in the province was held around the feast of Bl. Joseph Vaz, the patron of the province. After the solemn Eucharistic celebration the newly ordained priests, Fr. Joel and Fr. Jonathan were felicitated at the Provincial Community get together. The Province website was then launched by the Provincial after a brief description of the site presented by Fr. Joaquim Lobo, Provincial Secretary.

The website has three main sections: News and Info, Mapping and Commission. In the news and info section, all news articles and features are placed. In the mapping area, the Salesian houses of the province are shown as to their geographic location and gives access to information on each community. The Commission's section has information of all the commission and their tasks.

The navigation of the site is envisaged in such a manner that every house can utilise the site as their own by accessing the link to their own community/commission section. All the features available get customised to that particular house. The other features added on the site are Calendar, Volunteers, Donations, etc. Fr. Joaquim announced that the site is still being worked upon, and needs the collaboration of all the houses to feed in the information about the various communities, to take it to the next level.

The site was conceptualised by the Social Communications Commission and prepared by 'Kainos Creations' a local web solutions firm.
