Panjim, Oct. 28. Don Bosco School was inaugurated by Mr Peter Vaz, President of Models Group of builders and blessed by Fr Ian Figueiredo, Provincial, province of Panjim on 25th October 2013 on the beautiful land donated to the Salesians by Msgr. Francisco Martins in 1948, at Odxel, Goa.

Speaking on this occasion, Fr Figueiredo said that ''the people of the world are shrewder than the people of God'', as they had encroached the land and placed numerous obstacles in front of Salesians working here, and stalled any possible developments on the land for the last 65 years. The Salesians work for the poor and this was a perfect setting for Don Bosco to step in. The overall growth of the people of the vicinity was restricted by few selfish individuals.

The inaugural ceremony began by unveiling the plaque and invoking the blessings of God on the educational edifice. Charlotte Aphonso, benefactor of the Province inaugurated the Don Bosco Children's Park in the compound. Later, the students gave a short performance in front of more than 300 invitees.

Besides Mr Peter Vaz and Fr Ian Figueiredo, Fr Paul D'Souza, Vice Provincial, Fr Allwyn D'Souza, Economer, other Salesian fathers, sisters and parents were present. The function ended with the magic show by magician Br. Anthony Rocha, SDB.
