Trasi Thrills Once again

Panjim, Oct. 28. it is rightly said, 'An idle mind is a devils workshop'.  We at Don Bosco Trasi, are aware that many children waste their time during the school holidays and either get into trouble doing or learning not so very good things or just squander away their holidays in front of the TV or play computer games.
We decided, therefore, to have an Adventure camp on the lines of the Hill thrill camps of old. Call it what you will, Hill thrill, Sea Thrill, Frill thrill,.... Basically it was just a way to make the children 'Keep Busy Keep Cheerful.'

So the community of  Don Bosco Trasi, organised two  Hill Thrill camps, one from the 17th to the 20th of Oct for the 8th and 9th std boys and the other from the 23rd to the 26th Oct, for the 10th std. Young boys from the neighbouring parishes of Trasi, Kundapur, Kota, Sasthan, Padukone, Byndur, Gangoli, Piusnagar and Tallur attended the camps.

Both the camps were overflowing with fun filled activities.  Statue Making, flower making, keychain making, wide games, relays, hiking, trekking, treasure hunt, Adventure awards, cooking, Quiz, singing competition, skit competition, nature appreciation, value education, career guidance, Leadership skills, Team spirit, Camp-fire and numerous other value based activities, were just some of the topics covered during the camp.

On the last day of the camps Fr. Anand Noronha the Rector of the house gave away the prizes and thanked Bro. Vicky D'Souza, Bro. Joseph Rodrigues and Aspirant Arun Mendonca for their tireless efforts in making both the camps a resounding success.

All the campers enjoyed themselves and their evaluation was overflowing with highly laudable comments. They all wished that the camps were held for a longer duration, but one boys statement gave us much satisfaction  when he said -''I never knew much about Don Bosco and the Salesians, now I not only know the saint and the Salesians but also love them''.
