A medical camp was conducted by the Konkan Development Society (KDS) for the children, youth and women of Hospette village on 22nd July 2012 in collaboration with the Government Primary Health Center, Marvanthe and the Senha Sanga from Hospette.

The following were present for the inauguration ceremony: Doctor Girish, Mr. Gopal Karve (President of the Senhasangha), Mr. Jaganatha Karve (President of the committee), and Fr. Leo Pereira, the Administrator and Incharge of the Social development work for the Karnataka region, and Brother Vicky.
Doctor Girish in his inaugural speech gratefully appreciated the tireless and dedicated work of the Salesian Society in the field of free education for the children and imparting of skill training programs for youth of the locality.
He took care to admonish those present to keep themselves fit, healthy and strong especially during this season as many are prone to all types of sicknesses and ailments. On elaborating the topic he said, ''All sickness is human made. We need to keep our surrounding clean and tidy to ward of illnesses.'' He pointed out that it is it not merely the work of the municipality, but everyone to keep the surroundings clean and healthy.
During the day the children, youth and the women came for a general check up. Free medicines were also distributed. There was also opportunity for many of the adults to get their blood sugar checked.
The President of the committee Mr. Mr. Jaganatha Karve and the President of Senha Sangha thanked the Konkan Development society of Don Bosco Trasi for the care and concern shown during the last few years in the over all welfare of the people of the locality.
