Panjim, Aug. 20. After the farewell Eucharist in Don Bosco Oros on August 18 2011, the Relic Casket of Don Bosco was escorted by a motorcade of 30 cars from Maharashtra to Goa. Thousands of devotees and students from Don Bosco institutions extended a warm welcome to the saint of the young.
On August 18 2011, the Relic of Don Bosco received a fitting farewell in Oros, Maharashtra from the students and parishoners of the Salesian Parish and school. A grand motorcade of 30 cars organised by the Past-pupils of Don Bosco Panjim escorted the Relic Casket of Don Bosco from Oros to Goa. All along the way, people gathered with flags and banners to show their affection to ''Tornateancho Saib'' (meaning patron of youth in Konkani). At the first stop at Dhargal, the Parishoners of the Salesian parish in Tuem had gathered in huge numbers to show their love for Don Bosco. The traditional Goan dance performed by the students of Don Bosco Tuem was a fitting welcome to Don Bosco to the land of Goa.
The Salesian Sisters (FMA)from Carona and the students of Don Bosco Parra and Paliem had also brought their students to salute the patron of youth. What caught the eyes of every one was the spontanous gathering of devotees who had gathered all along the road from Porvorim to Panjim  to catch a glimpse of the grand reception to their beloved saint.
The Mayor of Panjim, Mr. Yatin Parekh, an alumnus of Don Bosco Panjim, gave an impressive civic welcome to the great saint into the city of Panjim. The Relic was then escorted to Don Bosco Panjim, the first Salesian presence in the Province of Konkan.
Thousands of devotees poured into the streets of Panjim to welcome the saint whose sons (Salesians) have done so much in the land of Goa. More than 3000 students of Don Bosco school and college in Panjim lined up along the roads singing glorious hymns to the patron and shouting ''Viva Don Bosco!!! We love you Bosco!''
