Pope Francis on 06 June accepted the resignation of Salesian Bishop Jerome Dhas Varuvel of Kuzhithurai Diocese in Tamil Nadu. A press release issued by the Vatican noted, ''The Holy Father Pope Francis has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the Diocese of Kuzhithurai, India, presented by Bishop Jerome Dhas Varuvel.'' The Salesian Province of St. Francis Xavier Bombay [INB] mourns with great sadness the demise of Father Byron Anthony D'Silva, aged 77, on 27 May 2020 at 14:15hrs, at the Holy Spirit Hospital Andheri-Mumbai.
