The XIV Provincial Chapter of the Sacred Heart Province of Bangalore was off to a glittering start at the Kristu Jyoti College Auditorium in Bangalore on Sunday 28th May, 2019. In the presence of 95 delegates, 14 observers and the moderator Father Sivy Koroth, Father Joyce Thonikuzhiyil, Salesian Provincial of Bangalore declared the Provincial Chapter open. Sister Celine Jacob the provincial of the FMAs Bangalore, Sister Reji Chacko, the provincial of the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians (MSMHC), Sister Carol Kuttiyanikal the provincial of the sisters of Mary Immaculate (SMI), the province level delegates of the different members of the Salesian family such as co-operators, past pupils, VDB and ADMA, were present on the occasion and felicitated the gathering. . Pope's Way of Cross will shine light on 'crucified' women |

Vatican City: Countless women and girls are being ''crucified'' by human traffickers, who trick them into slave labor or prostitution, and by those who seek out their services and exploit them, said the missionary nun who wrote the meditations for Pope Francis' Way of the Cross service.
Victims of human trafficking are people whom ''we have crucified and, today, in 2019, we continue to have people crucified for our use, our purposes, our well-being,'' Consolata Sister Eugenia Bonetti told reporters at a Vatican news conference on April 17.

Think hockey. Think Don Bosco, Matunga! The iconic sky blue colours of the Institution have dominated the school hockey circuit for over three decades. On March 30, with a host of Olympians in its midst, the Matunga-based school inaugurated a Fedrration Internationale de Hockey (FIH) approved full-sized astroturf pitch with the hope to develop future generations of hockey acumen. The Salesian Provincial of Mumbai, Father Godfrey D' Souza, was the chief guest for the opening ceremony.

Mirik -- A group of four Radio Journalists (RJ) of Radio Salesian 90.8 FM hit the road in search of first time voters under the leadership of Program Director RJ Samir and Senior RJ Rj Sagar, RJ Dikshit and RJ Moses.
The team's first destination Last Monday (1st April) was Ambootia Tea Estate via Singel Tea Estate. In both places the RJs interviewed young people and plantation workers.
