Darjeeling -- Salesian College Sonada Sociology department organised Ethnic Day 2018 with an hour-long program consisting of speeches and dances as well as Powerpoint presentations on ethnic groups of Darjeeling, Monday 15 October.
The auditorium event was followed by ethnic food fest by 10 departments putting up ethnic food stalls. The fest was a pre-puja (pre-phool patti) exercise by students and faculty.. Read More »

The Salesians of the Mumbai Province met on October 11, 2018 at the Don Bosco Provincial House Matunga, Mumbai for the 1st session of the Provincial Chapter 2019. The large gathering of the capitulars, including the ex-officio members, the moderator, the rectors, the elected local delegates, the province delegates and 3 representatives added up to a grand total of 69.

On Sunday, 7th October 2018, after 32 years of continuous service for the cause of the dis-advantaged people, Father Thomas Pallithanam was given a tearful yet joyful send off at Ravulapalem (Andhra Pradesh, India), launching him into his new assignment at New York. Earlier, his work at PARA had brought him and the children of the Human Rights Clubs to the corridors of the United Nations. Now from New York and the UN platform he will be able to reach out to more than 130 countries as he now represents the International Forum of the Salesians of Don Bosco at the UN. The send off was combined with the Golden Jubilee celebrations of his Religious Profession as a Salesian of Don Bosco. . Read More »

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Mr Conrad Sangma inaugurated the new gallery on Natural Resources and Housing Pattern at Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures (DBCIC) at Mawlai Phudmuri, Shillong, Meghalaya, India on 8th October 2018. He stressed on documentations of cultural history of tribes and other communities to ensure that people especially younger generation became aware of their roots.
