The Management Council of Don Bosco Communications (BOSCOM), South Asia, consisting of 14 delegates from the different provinces of India, met at Kharguli, Guwahati, on 25-26 April to discuss the role of the commission in South Asia Region and plan for some up coming events. A team comprising of four Americans, five Germans and one French citizen, is on a mission called ''Rickshaw Run 2015'' to spread the message of peace and harmony among the different ethnic groups of north east India and create awareness about the land, people, culture and beauty of the region, as well as to build bridges across communities. The method by which they have planned to achieve their objective is mobilizing youth to challenge themselves and take up adventure activities. Through their ''Rickshaw Run'' they also raise awareness regarding challenges faced by deprived children and mobilize resources for their education. Their involvement with the Salesians of the North East has turned the event also into a part of the bicentenary celebrations of Don Bosco's birth. . Read More

Treatment and counselling camp held for substance abusing adolescents

DB JANANAM, the de-addiction ministry of the Tiruchy Salesian Province organized a ten day camp in Tiruchi, from 8-17 April, 2015, for substance abusing adolescents. This first ever treatment camp for substance abusers in the province was conducted in collaboration with St. Ann's Sisters of Luzern (SAL sisters) and the Karunai Illam of CMI Fathers. Six adolescents participated in the camp, of whom 5 came through Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Salem, and 1 came through Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Coimbatore. . Read More

Genpact Limited is a multinational business process outsourcing and information technology services company, whose Indian branch has been supporting some of the rehabilitation activities of DBNRC, Ramanthapur of the Salesian Hyderbad Province, as a part of its CSR programmes..
