Varsity and Power Corp to generate solar power

A private university and a public sector undertaking made history when they signed an agreement to generate solar power for own use and to contribute to the national power grid. The Chairman and Managing Director of NEEPCO (North Eastern Electric Power Corporation) from Shillong, Mr PC Pankaj, accompanied by Director (Technical) Mr Utpal Moral, and Executive Director Mr Rajat Sarma signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) between Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) and NEEPCO for setting up a 2 MW Solar Power Plant at ADBU's 500 acre Tapesia Campus. . Annual meeting of the Vocational Guidance Commission of the South Asia region was held at Don Bosco Nitika, Kolkata from 5-6 February. 15 delegates from 9 provinces of the South Asia region took part in the meeting. The participating provinces were Mumbai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, New Delhi, Panjim and Silchar.
