A book on Swami Vivekanada by an Indian Salesian priest is scheduled to be released on 27th January prior to the Kolkata Book Fair due to start on 29 January. Report of Rapid Assessment Survey (RAS) was released by Don Bosco Navajeevan, Hyderabad, during Children\'s Mela on 22nd January 2014 at Nampally. At the request of the Fr. Sudhakar, Director of DBNJ homes, Ms Saritha, Project Coordinator released the book. The report was then distributed to the distinguished guests present. DON BOSCO NAVAJEEVAN organized Children's Mela on 22nd January 2014 at Nampally to celebrate 15 years of its service (1999-2014). The theme of the Mela was \\''PROTECT CHILDREN FROM SEXUAL ABUSE\\''. All the children from DBNJ Homes from the Twin Cities took part in the Mela along with local well-wishers and donors. The Mela was organized at DBNJ, Nampally area of GHMC Sports Complex Ground, to create awareness for the public and to present them the services provided by DBNJ homes for the street children and working youth.. The community of the Retreat, Yercaud, organized for the second consecutive year blood donation camp in its premises on 19th January, 2014, Sunday. The initiative was done by the students of Jnanodaya Salesian College to motivate the Oratory youth of the hill to come forward to donate blood so as to save lives in danger. The medical staff from Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital, Salem, reached the spot at 10.00 a.m. Fr. Amalraj Susai, the Rector, inaugurated the event expressing his appreciation for it. . A group of 7 youth and 2 adults accompanied by Fr. Cleophas Braganza left Don Bosco Youth Services, Mumbai on December 31, 2013 for a visit to some rural areas in Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. As a preparation for the bicentenary of the birth of St. John Bosco, the motive of the trip was to visit and know more about Salesian presences and their activities in rural areas of the province, interact with the youth and promote the SYM, have an experience of the liturgy, culture and lifestyle of the people, and envisage future collaboration between DBYS and the rural youth groups..
