The Executive Committee of the Senior (Old) Bedean Association (Past pupils of St. Bede's) reached out to 100 poor families in 10 zones in and around Chennai supplying them with provisions and clothing. On 9th October 2020, Department of Life Education at Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, India organized Fr. Joseph Carreno Memorial Lecture on the topic, ''What is God Doing Through the Coronavirus?'' The lecture was delivered by Fr. John Alexander SDB, Rector & Secretary of the college. The Memorial Lecture was established to honour Fr. Joseph Carreno who was the founder of Sacred Heart College and a zealous apostle of the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. As a Provincial, Fr. Fr. Felix Koikara SDB, the well-known Youth Worker and Youth Animator, returned to the Father's House at 4.30 p.m. on Christmas day, 25 December 2020. He was 83 years old and was a Salesian for 62 years and a priest for 52 years. In his passing, the Salesian Province of Chennai has lost a great friend of youth and youth workers. He is remembered as one who contributed substantially to the development of youth ministry in the church in India. Youth ministry was his great passion. . Read More »

Tears of joy rolled down the eyes of the mother Vijaya and father Thangaraja 48 as they took back their son Meganathan 22 whom they left with a locally powerful debtor along with his younger brother when they were barely ten and nine years of age.
The emotional reunion took place in Don Bosco Anbu Illam (DBAI), Salem on Wednesday, formally in the presence of Ms. Uma Maheswari, District Child Protection Officer, Mr. Dass, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, and Fr. Dr.Casimir Raj Director, DBAI, Salem.

Don Bosco Relief Service(DBRS) under SURABI the Project office of teh Salesian Province of Madras [INM], is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic during the lockdown phase in and around Chennai. 'Stay at Home and be safe' is not a reality for migrants and unorganized labourers who have to work every day to earn their livelihood. Many are from other States. Children cannot stay inside their houses. Chennai Salesians are responding to this Coronavirus outbreak that has had a major impact on two of the most vulnerable communities in Tamil Nadu, migrant construction and brick-kiln labourers, who have been rendered jobless in Chennai, Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur districts. .
