DBCMaram 26 Feb 2011 ( www.dbcmaram.org ): The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of Don Bosco College undertook an outreach programme in the neighbourhood school namely Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Science, Maram on 26 February 2011. The short programme envisaged to make the students of the school aware of the evils of HIV/AIDS through skit, talk and music. Goa University Marathi Department held a two day seminar cum discussion on the Kristapurana of Fr. Thomas Stephens (1549-1619) from February 18 -19, 2011 at the Goa University Administrative Block Auditorium. It was a joint venture of Goa Vidyappeth Marathi Department and Don Bosco, Nashik. Every year the Salesians in Alangulam celebrate the feast of Don Bosco at Melanmarianadu with the teachers, Salesian Cooperators, friends and well wishers. The Diocesan Process For The Canonization Of Fr. Constantine Vendrame Concludes In Shillong

On 19th February, the Diocesan Process of Inquiry into the life and virtues of Salesian Missionary Father Constantine Vendrame was brought to a conclusion in Mawlai Parish, Shillong Archdiocese. The simple yet solemn function was presided over by Archbishop Dominic Jala, sdb. Present were members of the Diocesan tribunal that conducted the inquiry. Nine representatives from the home place of Fr. Vendrame, in San Martino di Colle Umberto, Treviso brought together the Church of the Diocese of Vittorio Veneto and that of the Archdiocese of Shillong where Fr. Vendrame spent most of his missionary life. Various other persons who spoke highlighted the significance of the figure of Fr. Vendrame who was one of the most successful missionaries in the Congregation and whose holiness of life has been testified by those who knew him or eve heard of him. . Read More

Dn. Surjit Joseph Kujur SDB, was ordained a priest of God by Rt. Rev. Joseph Aind SDB, DD, Bishop of Dibrugarh, at Lacit Gaon, on 20 February, in the presence of 56 priests, 40 Sisters belonging to seven different congregations, 20 Brothers, and around 3000 faithful. Fr. James Poonthuruthil, Salesian Provincial, Fr. Jose Palely, Provincial Economer, and almost 40 Salesians joined the impressive, yet meaningful celebration. . Read More
