Pope Francis has appointed Fr. George Plathottam SDB, belonging to the Salesian Province of Guwahati, Assam, India as a Consultor to the Dicastery for Communications. The news came along with the announcement of “Speak with the heart: Veritatem facientes in caritate” as the theme for the 57th World Communications Day 2023. Father George Plathottam is currently the Secretary of the Office of Social Communication of the Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences (FABC). Assam Governor Professor Jagdish Mukhi conferred degrees at the 11th Convocation of Assam Don Bosco University at Tapesia Campus, Sonapur, on September 10. The degrees were conferred on 984 students, of which 472 students received Bachelor's Degree in Engineering & Technology, Arts and basic sciences and 494 students received Master's Degree in various branches of Engineering, Science and Management.
