Sri Lanka, Mar. 24. The littered plastic waste and heaped-up dirt along Dungalapitya beach, behind Don Bosco Provincial House, were removed by Don Bosco Youth on March 20, 2022.
The youth picked up more than 100 bags of plastic and another 125 bags of dirt on a stretch of 1.5 Km of the polluted beach area. The venture supported by the Sri Lankan Police also instructed the people to mend their ways for the good of the environment.

The youth donated the collected plastics to an orphanage that resells plastic for sustenance. The inactive youth centre since the pandemic got revived as they ventured with the programme. They were accompanied by the Salesian community at the Provincial House.
