Hyderabad, Jan. 17. The Bosco Institute of Research and Development for Youth (BIRDY) celebrated its 25 years of accompaniment with the young in the Province of Hyderabad on January 15, 2022. The journey with young began on June 23, 1996, in the presence of (late) Father Thomas Panakezham, Sdb, Regional Councillor, and Father Joe Arimpoor Sdb, the founder-director of BIRDY.
BIRDY, in the past, has reached out to the youth, especially the marginalized and the poor, through various animation programmes. It has reached out to the youth workers and educators, assisting them with training programmes to enhance the quality of their service to the youth.

The jubilee celebrations began with a Holy Eucharist at Don Bosco Shrine with several Salesians, Sisters, Brothers, youth and well-wishers. Father Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, sdb, Provincial of Hyderabad, highlighted the scope of BIRDY and the efforts towards the holistic development of the young in the two Telugu speaking states, especially the marginalized and disadvantaged youth of the society. During the felicitation, Father Thathireddy, Father Thomas Santiagu, sdb, the Provincial Elect, the past Provincials, Rectors and Youth Directors and the Present Rector, Father Bokkala Rayappa, were thanked for their contribution to the youth ministry.
