Salesian Province of Hyderabad declares open the 11th Provincial Chapter

Hyderabad, Jan. 11. Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad, 11 January 2022: The Provincial Chapter XI of the Salesian Province of St Joseph, Hyderabad has been declared open by the Provincial, Father Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, sdb at 3:00pm on January 11, 2022 at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad.

The official opening of the Provincial Chapter has been preceded by a half-day recollection preached and animated by Father Robert Pen, sdb of the Province of Bombay. All the Chapter Members were invited to spiritually orient themselves, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to the gentle nudging of the Lord, who calls them to take courageous decisions always being in touch with the reality of the youth of today's world. The Chapter Members were animated on some of the most important themes of the GC28 Post Chapter Document thus spurring them on to have a right frame of mind for fruitful discussions and deliberations on the implementation of the General Chapter 28 in the Province, the revision of the Organic Provincial Plan of the Province, the Province Formation and Economic Directories and other urgent matters concerning the life and mission of the Province.

Father Provincial, Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, sdb during the Mass of the Holy Spirit, encouraged the Chapter Members to be imbued with the strength, power and creative energy of the Spirit to make the Salesian Charism ever more relevant for the integral development of the young, the meeting point of God for us, Salesians. He has wished the Moderator of the Chapter, Father Thomas Santiagu the constant accompaniment of the Spirit and the maternal guidance of Mary Help of Christians in fruitfully and meaningfully coordinating the work of the Chapter Members of the 11th Provincial Chapter, which will be concluded at 4:30 pm on January 14, 2022.
