Salesian Province of Tiruchy Inaugurates Provincial Chapter

Tiruchy, Jan. 11. The 8th Provincial Chapter of the Salesian Province of Tiruchy was inaugurated at the Shrine of Our Lady of Velankanni on January 10, 2022, with a Solemn Holy Eucharist and inaugural session presided by Rev. Dr Susaimanickam DD, Bishop Emeritus of Sivagangai. He emphasized the commitment the religious are called to live.

Sixty-three Salesians of the Province and six members of the Salesian family will deliberate on the theme ''Mission to Love the Young'' for six days. Father Agilan, Provincial, declared open the Chapter and is moderated by Father Arul Maran.

The Bishop released a book on eco concerns, ''Twelve Baskets Full,'' written by Father Ricopar Royan. A YouTube series on Don Bosco in Tamil 'Iraivanudan Thonbosco' was also released.
