Chennai, Nov. 15. The Eco Team of Don Bosco Green Alliance (DBGA) in South Asia met on November 9, 2021, to share the various eco practices initiated in their respective Provinces. The team comprised of the Green Animators and Province representatives for DBGA from the region. They discussed the possible ways of effective communication and coordination among the members and the DBGA central team for a convincing impact on the environment.
Father Antonio Molavin, Convener of DBGA from the Philippines, spoke in detail on Pope Francis' Laudato si and its action plans. Father Ricopar Royan, South Asia Coordinator for DBGA, facilitated the discussions. Ms Leann D' Souza, Executive Secretary of DBGA, presented the Laudato Si Action Platform (LSAP), explaining the seven sectors of intervention and seven goals of LSAP.

''Accompanying the young towards a sustainable future'' are the words of the Rector Major and one of the eight priorities of GC28 given to the Salesian World. DBGA is taking forward the invitation of the Rector Major by forming Eco Teams in each region of the Congregation. The meeting ended with a renewed conviction to take the green initiatives of the Provinces to the next level, especially by registering schools, parishes, youth centres, etc., with LSAP and accompanying young people towards ecological leadership. As of October 31, 2021, DBGA has 486 member institutions belonging to the Salesian Family from 79 countries.
