Bangalore, Jul. 19. While appreciating the infrastructure, personnel and possession of best equipment, Father Stanley Kozhichira, President, SIGNIS INDIA, said passion for Christ-content should drive all media involvement. He was at the BOSCOM South Asia Annual Executive Body Meeting 2021-22 held online on July 16 and 17.
Persons with passion reaches out to people, no matter how the financial backup is, said Father Kozhichira at the BOSCOM Meet while presenting options for creating a financially self-sustainable media ministry.

The two-day annual executive body meeting, planned and executed online, had delegates from 12 Salesian Provinces and the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA) media officials. Father Ernest Rosario, Delegate, BOSCOM South Asia, organized the gathering. The special invitee, Father David Arokiam, CEO, Madha TV, speaking on the power of the media in fostering faith, said media plays a vital role in breaking all barriers and connects everyone even though isolated during the pandemic.

In his inaugural note, Father KM Jose, Provincial in charge of BOSCOM, invited everyone to proclaim Christ through audio-visual platforms and endorse Don Bosco in the world. Father Harris Pakkam, Director, ANS Rome, and the central coordinator of SSSC for South Asia, introduced the Salesian School of Social Communication (SSSC) and its pivotal role in the media formation of Salesians across the globe. The BOSCOM members discussed, at length, the SSSC programme as envisaged by the Dicastery of Social Communication, Rome, and the regional delegates of South Asia. Father Pakkam explained the significance of Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival (DBGYFF), a worldwide Salesian film festival to be launched soon, with the theme, 'Moved by Hope' in times of pandemic.
