New Delhi, May. 18. The new National Education Policy 2020 proposes the revision and revamping of all aspects of education in India. A webinar on the 'Implementation of National Education Policy 2020' organized by All India Don Bosco Education Society (AIDBES) and the Education and Cultural Dimension of the Salesian Province of New Delhi held on May 15, 2021, looked into the various possibilities of NEP.
The webinar, focusing on the creative potential of the individual learner, began with introductory words by Father Davis Maniparamben, Provincial of New Delhi. Father Babu Varghese welcomed Mr Prodipta Hore, Director of Aditya Birla Education Academy and Dr Dakshayini Kanna, the facilitators and 60 Principals of Don Bosco Schools, Salesian Province of New Delhi and the Catholic Schools of Delhi/NCR Region.

Dr Kanna, who has 32 years of experience in education and currently the Founder-Director of Harvest International School, Bangalore, animated the Principals on the National Education Policy (NEP). His session enabled the participants to comprehend the essence of NEP and to integrate the guidelines in academic planning at all levels. The two-hour session covered the 4D framework of NEP and insights into the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and character required for the holistic development of children in schools. The training included experiential learning and the core concepts such as literacy, numeracy, ICT, capability, critical and creative thinking, ethical understanding, and indigenous understanding.

Today, as the existence of schools has become a point of immense debate and discussion in the public domain, and the principals going through exciting and challenging times, the webinar helps them reimagine and reinvent education and make it one that goes beyond literacy and numeracy.
