National Day of Prayer and Fasting to Rid the World of COVID-19

Hyderabad, May. 7. The Andhra Telangana Region Catholic Religious of India, Begumpet, Hyderabad, with the rest of the country, on May 7, observed a day of prayer and fasting for healing and deliverance from the deadly virus. The religious communities of the region participated online in the prayer moment from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm.

Father Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, SDB, Salesian Provincial of Hyderabad Province and the President of ATR CRI, invited the religious men and women of Andhra and Telangana for prayer and healing. ''As consecrated persons, let us pray for healing and deliverance from the deadly virus,'' said Father Vijaya Bhaskar, in his invitation to pray for the country and the world at large. Father Cyril Doss, SVD, led the service in praying for the world. The National Day of Prayer and Fasting was proposed by Oswald Cardinal Gracias, Archbishop of Bombay.
