New Delhi, Jan. 25. Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Kerketta, Bishop of Jashpur Dioecese, administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 218 boys and girls of Mary Help of Christians Church at Jumaikela on Sunday, 24th February, 2021.
With Confirmation, a sacrament of initiation, the recipients become full-fledged members of the faith. The faith received in Baptism is confirmed and made strong in Confirmation. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church says confirmation gives those confirmed a special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith by word and action as true witnesses of Christ, to confess the name of Christ boldly, and never to be ashamed of the cross. It renders their bond with the Church more perfect.

Bishop Emmanuel exhorted those confirmed to live their faith till the end of their life whatever be the situation. He also asserted the responsibility of the parents to strengthen the faith of the children and to help them to live their life of faith. Rev. Fr. Jainiwas James, the Parish priest, Salesians Fathers and Sisters and the Disciples of Don Bosco prepared the children well for the reception of the Sacrament. The youth of the parish beautifully decorated the Church and the premises. The tribal dance and the lively singing made the occasion solemn.
