Blessing of Chapel at Kandiyor by Rt. Rev. Binay Kandulna, Bishop of Khunti Diocese

New Delhi, Dec. 29. On 9th December 2020, Rt. Rev. Binay Kandulna, Bishop of Khunti Diocese solemnly blessed and inaugurated the newly built village chapel at Kandiyor village in Bichna Parish in Jharkhand State.  Fr. Hilarius Kullu, Rector of Don Bosco, Hatia, several priests, religious and parishioners from Bichna as well as from the nearby parishes and institutions graced the occasion with their presence.
After the traditional tribal welcome dance, Bishop Binay Kandulna and the guests were warmly welcomed by Fr. Patrick Tigga, the Parish priest of Bichna. Fr. John F. Piculsi the donor of the newly built chapel was specially remembered on the occasion. Bishop Binay Kandulna inaugurated the newly built church by cutting of the ribbon at the main door of the chapel. Then the newly built Chapel and the new grotto of Our Lady were blessed by the Bishop himself. This was followed by the Holy Eucharist which was made grand with entrance dance and a melodious choir conducted by Bro. Prakash Mallick.

During the short felicitation programme, Bishop Kandulna congratulated Salesians of Don Bosco and the villagers of Kandiyor for their co-operation and hard work in making one of the most beautiful chapels in his whole diocese in this remote place at Kandiyor. He also appreciated the Salesians for their contribution in khunti diocese. At the end of the programme the villagers offered three goats, one for the Bishop, one for Provincial's representative and one for the Parish priest as the token of their love and gratitude.
