Eminent Salesian Journalist Authors 02 Books for Budding Reporters & Sub-Editors

Mumbai, Aug. 14. Father [Dr] Francis Karackat of the Salesian Province of Bangalore [INK] has penned 02 books,'Journalism: A Manual for Budding Reporters' and 'Journalism: A Manual for Budding Sub-Editors'. Father Karackat, with a University of Kerala Doctorate in Journalism on 'Ethics in Newspaper Journalism in Kerala', is also the recipient of the 'Best Inspiring Writer in Malayalam'-Shalom Media Award 2019, and is an acclaimed author of 33 books.
'Journalism: A Manual for Budding Reporters', is envisioned as a key resource book for anyone interested in venturing into the career of journalism. The content of the book is culled out from a wide repository of books, online sources, journals, magazines and newspapers with appropriate attribution. Father Karackat says, ''it was an inner call to embark on this project of a journalism resource manual, after having experienced the joy of coordinating the UG and PG programme syllabus as Chairman of the Board of Studies for Journalism and Mass Communication, Kannur University.''

'Journalism: A Manual for Budding Sub-Editors', is a sequel to the former and is the primary resource book for the Reporting for News Media core paper in journalism. Father Karackat comments, ''this is the fruit of my rigorous pursuit as a journalism teacher for 18 years, teaching newspaper journalism, magazine journalism and television journalism.''

Both the books are priced at Rs. 290/- each, and are published by Don Bosco Books, the publication wing of the Don Bosco Arts and Science College Angadikadavu, where Father Karackat presently serves as Principal.
