Psyche & Soul - Weekend Podcast Series Launched

Chennai, Jul. 6. Marking the solemnity of St Thomas the Apostle of India, the Salesian province of New Delhi launched a new podcast series 'Psyche & Soul'. Director of Sumedha Centre for Psychospiritual Wellbeing at Jeolikote, Uttarakhand Dr. Jose Parappully, Salesian priest and clinical psychologist says, ''the psychospiritual and educational reflection entitled 'Psyche & Soul', is a weekend podcast. I use insights from psychology, sacred scripture as well as the socio-political realities of our everyday life to help us enhance our emotional wellbeing and our spiritual life - our psyche and our soul.''

In the first episode, Parappully spoke on 'health and happiness' with the foundation based on the Grant Study of the Harvard Study of Adult Development, which is the longest running longitudinal study ever. He has scheduled the following episodes on topics: Childhood foundations of Health and Happiness - Trust and Secure Attachments, and Insecure Attachments Jeopardize Health and Happiness.

Sumedha Centre which started in New Delhi in 2003, is currently located in the rejuvenating lush green Kumaon foothills of the Himalayas, some 18 km south of the tourist town of Nainital since 2008. Father Parappully, says: ''Sumedha Sadhana is an inner journey in quest of greater healing and wholeness.'' Participants begin from where they are, looking at what is happening on their psychospiritual journey. They then move on to explore the psychological dynamics that affect their wellbeing, get in touch with their emotional and spiritual blocks and brokenness and seek healing so that they can live and minister in more joyful, satisfying and fruitful ways.
