Father Wyman Gonsalves Installed as MumbaiSalesians' Novice Master

Mumbai, Jun. 16. Father Wyman Gonsalves of the Salesian Province of Bombay [INB] was installed as Rector and Novice Master on 16 June 2020, at Salesian Training Institute [STI] in Nashik. MumbaiSalesians' Vice-Provincial Father Ashley Miranda presided at the installation ceremony.

Addressing the novices, Father Miranda requested, ''please pray for your Novice Master daily and also pray for your parents.'' Post-installation, a simple yet meaningful 'act of entrustment' was animated by Father Miranda, in which the novices were entrusted to the care of the novice master, Father Gonsalves.

Addressing the novices, during the customary 'good night' talk, Father Gonsalves said, ''I am grateful to the Rector Major, Don Angel Artime Fernandez for the appointment,'' and reminded the novices, ''the provincial is the first formator.'' He also thanked Father Miranda for his companionship and effective accompaniment of the novices for the past two weeks.

Father Gonsalves concluded with, ''the spirit of God is truly present in the constitution and always in our presence. It is our responsibility to continue in the tradition of many generations of Salesians who have passed through this house and have carried fond memories so we should also cherish this place and always be happy.''
